About me
I'm Sophie Hein Schrier and I've been a professional voice over artist for over 30 years. I am based in Gloucestershire, UK, where I am set up with a professionally-equipped home studio.
Straight after leaving university with a degree in English Literature, my career began as a television news presenter and radio show host, both of which led to my current work specialising in voice over artistry.
I have a versatile repertoire. I can be authoritative, friendly, soothing, serious, fun or sexy. And I can be all of those things in a number of different languages and accents!
I am British and Mauritian, so am bilingual and as well as the UK, I have lived for extended periods in Mauritius, Australia and China. I therefore have mother-tongue English (RP, or ‘The Queen's English’) and French, with a good level of Mandarin, German and Italian, plus convincing Australian accent and a variety of character voices.
My past work includes voiceovers for TV and radio commercials (Pizza Hut, Aussie hair products etc), telephone banking (State Bank Mauritius), airline safety videos (BA), continuity announcing, recorded telephone messages, news anchor and reporter (BBC World Service), TV trailers (BBC), corporate videos, educational material/training videos and drama (Open University), foreign language dubbing (Max Mara), beauty pageant compere, cartoon and computer game voices, (children's) audiobooks, documentary narration and tourist audioguides.
