FAQ

Frequently Asked Quesions about using a professional voiceover artist.

Why use a professional voiceover artist?

A professional voiceover artist on your project makes your business and your project sound professional.

Whether it's the voice who greets your customers on a phone message or the voice that narrates your explainer video, that voice needs to create the image you require.

How much does a professional voiceover artist cost?

The cost of my services varies depending on the individual job: its length, its complexity, its use and whether it involves lip-syncing. Please feel free to contact me to discuss your project and I will give you a precise quote.

To give you a very approximate idea, voicing a 5-minute video/narration will normally be £100-£200.

Do we need to pay a voiceover artist royalties?

This varies depending on the project and how widely it will be distributed and viewed. Audiobooks and commercials, yes. Most other projects, no.

Do I need to book a recording studio?

The cost of using my recording equipment is included in the cost of my work. I can record most projects in my own studio, with the exception of extremely long projects (eg audiobooks) and where lip-synching is required (eg foreign language dubbing). For these projects I will use a professional local recording studio. Please see my Partners page. Alternatively, travelling to a recording studio of your choice can be discussed.

How long does it take to receive the finished recording?

I can often return a finished recording within 24 hours. It's just a question of contacting me and asking. I'm very approachable and flexible.
